Tiger Woods has announced he will return to golf next month at the Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia.

The world’s number-one golfer released a statement on his website to announce his return to the tournament, with his last victory there in 2005.

Woods is a four-time champion at the Masters, which is the first major tournament of the year in the US.

The scandal-plagued golfer has not played competitive golf since November 15th, when he embarked on a four-month interruption in his career, following revelations that he had cheated on his wife with numerous women.

A flurry of negative publicity resulted in the loss of millions of dollars on product endorsements for the famous sportsman.

The Masters begins in Augusta on April 8.
